CCR: The Pink Bow

Hi blog! This is my last blog. I really enjoyed creating this project and using different resources. I am proud of what my group and I accomplished with our film. This CCR is a reflection of all the struggles my group and I went through and the new skills I have learned.

Final Task: The Pink Bow

Hi blog! Below is my final task. My group and I enjoyed being creative and have learned new things about filming and editing. Please enjoy our opening sequence, The Pink Bow.

Final touches and uploading the project

Hi blog! My group and I decided it would be best to show our project to members of our families and see if they would recommend any changes. They told us to add some sound effects for the ending of our opening sequence. At the end, we have clips of a missing poster sign. We did this to make it seem like we were taking pictures of it. They recommended adding camera clicking sounds. Another thing they recommended was lowering the volume of the background music when there was dialogue. Some scenes with dialogue were harder to interpret. We lowered the music to a position where the audience can clearly hear the actors talk and a low volume of the music. We added transitions in the music so when there wasn't any more dialogue, the music would not come back at full volume. Every 2 seconds, I raised the volume by 20%. This made the music seem like it was naturally getting quiet and fit the scene perfectly. My family advised me that since the title was shown like it was being typed, I sho

Finishing Editing

Hi blog! Today was the last day of editing. My group and I have completed recording any scenes that needed to be redone. We all made sure that the entire sequence was under two minutes. We started by looking for a song to use. We downloaded and added the loyalty-free song into the iMovie. I started the credits and included the actors, director,  filming, editing, safety team, and costumes. We met up and cropped each scene so the dialogue and transitions matched up evenly. My other two partners also edited the credits. We had a challenging time at first trying to move the text boxes around. We found a website where we could download the exact font we wanted. The typewriter font we used was altering the color and shape when we added the credits. We had to try changing the placement of the credits many times. After searching for different ways to edit in iMovie, we figured out a way to add the credits. I added the transitions into each scene. We used a blurring transition that showed both

Continuing to edit

Hi blog! Today I met up with another member from my group and edited the project and refilmed some important scenes. We realized that some scenes were not flush with the rest of the project. So we found a better way to film some shots steadily. We used a bicycle in all of these scenes, so the camera had to follow along. We used an old hat, duct tape, and a phone. We faced the phone down in the hat and tried to film a high angle. This worked a lot better than we thought it would and was steady when the biker stayed straight. As soon as we finished filming those scenes, we took account of the variety of camera movements and angles and made sure it was diverse. After, we uploaded each clip and placed them in the correct order. Before we moved them from the phone to the computer, we sent through all of the videos and only saved the good ones.  The last time we filmed, it was difficult to distinguish which clips were the ones we chose to include in the opening sequence. This time, we delet

Editing, Filming, and Sounds

Hi blog! My group and I are continuing to edit and are connecting more scenes together with transitions. We are realizing that some scenes have bad quality. You can see the shadows of the camera, the angles aren't straight, and the background noises are overpowering the dialogue. Overall, these are easy fixes. We are planning to meet up again soon to complete the filming process. We all edit everyday small details that will improve the condition of our project. When we meet up to film for the final time, we will be focused and record a list of scenes that need to be fixed. I have already made a list of everything we need to do, so we are extremely prepared. Our group has decided to contact the labeling companies a different way and wait for feedback there. I am in charge of the UMG company and the song Good Fortune. Another member is managing the process of the other song. We are constantly finding ways to contact them and looking for responses. When we reached out through social m

Beginning of editing

Hi blog! For the past few days, I have been editing the project. I have to connecting each clip in. First, I imported all of the clips and decided which were the best quality and contained no mistakes. I then put the recordings in order and added transitions. I went through each transition and liked cross dissolving is the most. I will be going over the whole project many times before I am done editing, but I wanted to piece it together to make sure it looks good. After cropping each clip into my preferred timing, I realized that some may need to be refilmed. We used some different angles for the same walking scene, so I have to make them look as smooth as possible. There are some scenes that I later realized showed the camera's shadow and the filmers feet or hands. Some scenes were plain clips of random objects, like a stop sign. I wanted the opening credits to be seen and acknowledged without another important event happening at the same time. A problem I am facing with my song
